What are the differences among CR, SCR and SBR?

CR grade Neoprene: Soft hand feeling, warm and cold-resistant, with excellent high elasticity. It is mainly used in water sports products and is a primary raw material for high-quality wetsuits, surfing suits, waterproof clothing, professional gloves, and fishing pants.

CR Applications:

0°-3°: surf suit, spearfishing wetsuit, rescue protective suit, diving socks, surfing socks

5°-7°: wetsuit, fishing pants, dry suit, surfing boots

13°-15°: technical diving dry suit

"CR Neoprene" scientific name "Chloroprene Rubber", is an elastomer synthetic rubber produced by chloroprene polymerization based on petroleum.

Currently, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan have relatively advanced NEOPRENE production technology, especially Japan, where high-end product materials are sourced. Following Japan, South Korea and Taiwan also play a significant role in manufacturing.

Neoprene material sources: YAMAMOTO from Japan, JAKO from South Korea, Nanliang from Taiwan and Neoprene from China.

CR elongation is 2-3 times, while SBR elongation is over 1.5 times.

Neoprene Hardness is 3°-15°, thickness is 1mm – 20mm.

SCR grade Neoprene: CR and SBR are mixed in a specific ratio to create a rubber with good flexibility, making it a versatile material for wetsuits. Depending on the proportion of CR in the blend, there are noticeable differences in elasticity and comfort, and market prices also vary based on CR content.

CR Applications:

0°-3°: diving suit, diving gloves, diving hood

7°-9°: fishing pants

SBR grade Neoprene: Made from styrene-butadiene rubber (commonly known as SBR, primarily produced domestically), it is suitable for the sports products market and is cost-effective, making it ideal for low-end wetsuits and protective gear.

CR Applications:

3°-5°: recreational wetsuit, diving gloves, diving socks, household products, protective gear

7°-9°: cup sleeve, computer bags, protective cover

12°-15°: vulcanized shoes
